The Goddess Test-Review & Giveaway
This book was very impressive. Aimee Carter brought Greek Mythology to life in such a subtle, but still intriguing way. I loved Kate she was self deprecating without being annoying, and it was very evident she was a good person. I really connected with her mother too, all the characters were endearing, and likable. The writing was fresh and entertaining, everything about the plot lured me in instantly. I insta-liked Henry, everything about him was perfect for for me. Even the side-characters of James and Ava were complex. Kate has to stay with Henry and live out the Greek tale of Persephone, sort of. Kate is to be tested to see if she is worthy of immortality. A lot of side factors go into Kate's decisions, she has every right to feel pressured, but she seems to hold it together pretty nicely. I really liked the twists in this story too, some people might have seen them coming, but I never thought the twists would be that extreme!! The best part for me was Aimee's ability to take a well worn tale, and put a unique fresh spin on it, the story was brilliant honestly. I had a really hard time stopping once I started to read, I really recommend this book, it was a fast read, but a great experience.
