I was in love with this book instantly. I love road trip books, and this one was like Sarah Dessen and Lauren Barnholdt merged into one super awesome book. Roger was insta-like for me, he was cute, funny, sweet, full of win. Amy however I took some time to warm up to. No one warned me that this book was not super happy fun times, its like sad.
Amy is troubled, she is truly struggling with some issues, nothing too scary like Ellen Hopkins or whatever, but just sadness. Roger knows this, so he' s cool. Amy has to travel cross country with Roger, and they don't actually know each other that well. Things are awkward, but so flipping sweet. I will be honest at times I wanted to slap Roger, Hadley sucks Roger GTFO, for real. I'd have to say this book will go on my "Happy Books" list, its that good. The writing was stellar, and the songs I am so planning on making one of Roger's famous playlists a reality by putting it on my I-Pod. This book was charming to say the least, a full on character smash, totally well developed and complex, and the plot was overflowing with fabulousness. Even though it was sad without warning I treasure it. I love YA, but it takes a lot for me to dig a sad one, thats usually reserved for Courtney Summers, but Morgan Matson joins the club.

Zombieland fan, I've seen it a million times, so of course I pictured
Jesse Eisenberg as Roger and Amber Heard as Amy. She tries
to eat him in Zombieland though, so the outcomes are different.
