The Iron Daughter-Julie Kagawa

The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey, #2)

The Iron Daughter is the sequel to The Iron King, a wonderful book by Julie Kagawa. The Iron Daughter picks up where The Iron King left off, and its part of the Iron Fey series. Meghan Chase is a part fey from Louisiana, and she is on a journey to save the Nevernever, the faerie land. She is put to the test and torn between summer and winter. She is surrounded by colorful moving characters who will capture your heart.

I started The Iron Daughter with the intention of zooming through it for a Read-A-Thon. However, I was sadly mistaken about one thing its to good for that. I was sucked back into the wonderful world of Meghan, Ash, and Puck, and I was happy to be there. We are in the Winter Court with Meghan trying to figure out Ash's motives, and live through her first encounter with Mab the Winter Queen. The Winter Court is home to some complex intriguing people, and you find yourself engrossed in the fey politics. Meghan is trying to stay strong for everyone, and be the one to solve the problems. Meghan thankfully isn't alone in her journey she has the help of some amazing people, er fey. We get to meet another captivating powerful fey, and she turns out to be a blessing for everyone. As a reader I found myself just as torn as Meghan between Winter and Summer, and I can't imagine having to make that choice. Beautiful writing and epic storytelling, if you haven't read The Iron King you should really go do that, so then you can read The Iron Daughter.
