Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose...

It's winter break at St. Vladimir's, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy's crawling with Guardians--including Rose's hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if handto- hand combat with her mom wasn't bad enough, Rose's tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason's got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks....This year, St. Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price...

Rated 5 on a scale 1-5

Extremely good book, I'm not sure who hates Tasha more Rose or me I was so angry reading this book. Then they introduce Adrian and then there is still Mason so I'm like completely torn in a million different directions. I think this was a great 2nd book. I truly felt like I was discovering the bodies with Rose and Dimitri. I still don't truly know Adrian or Dimitri yet in the 2nd book. I still can relate to Tasha wanting the Moroi to fight. I mean I have been thinking that myself this entire time. I mean holy crap they have all this magic they can fight. I like Dimitri well enough and Mason, but I'm kind of partial to Adrian right now. Then the fight seen at the end that is extremely intense. Rose and Mia teaming up that was a shocker. So much good stuff happened in this book. I am fascinated by the relationship between Rose and her mother as well. I think this was a strong book a good sequel.

The ending was action packed, but you can tell it really messed with Rose.  Everyone in this book is so messed up in some way or another.  I just feel like if the Moroi would just fight there own battles, and I think they sort of take the dhampir for granted. The dhampir and the Moroi should be equal, and I want to know what makes someone a spirit user its all really confusing.
