In My Mailbox

In my mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren, and its to showcase all the books we got this week, I only got a few, but its better than no books, that would be dire. Please let me know what you got, love to see :)

Awaken

Maddie and Justin live online, everything is done online dating, working, school. Maddie does one thing offline play soccer. She loves it, something doesn't feel right about doing everything online, she likes the human contact she gets when playing soccer. Justin feels the same in fact its all he ever talks about living offline, living without technology. In the year 2060 that isn't normal, for them to want to unplug. Maddie is a bit leery of Justin though, he acts so different maybe he's hiding something?? (NetGalley) (Available March 23 2011)

The Vespertine

Amelia is living in the summer between girlhood and womanhood its the year 1889. She sets off to Baltimore to spend the summer with her wealthy society cousin Zora. She is building quite the life for herself when she falls for Nathanial, an artist. He is not in her social circle, but Amelia can't help herself. She also has visions like a Seer, and bad things start to happen making everyone around her wonder if she isn't just a Seer, but the doer of the evil deeds. (Super extra long summary at Goodreads) (NetGalley) (Available March 7 2011)
..Also I love the new cover its one of my favorites out there right now

The Betrayal of Maggie Blair

In Scotland during the 17th Century, Maggie is accused of witchcraft. Instead of being hanged she escapes to her Uncle but brings bad things with her. The King and his men are after her now, and she would do everything to help the Uncle who risked it all to help her. (NetGalley) (Available April 18th 2011)

The Iron Queen (Iron Fey, #3)

Ah!! I can't tell you how excited I am about this one. The Iron Fey just happens to be one of my all time favorite series of books, up there with The Hunger Games Trilogy and any least little scribble on a napkin that Kristen Cashore might happen to write. I'm already devouring this one, and wish I just could do nothing else but read it. Meghan Chase and Ash are on another journey to save Meghan's real father, and defeat the false king who will not rest until he destroys the half Summer Fey half human Meghan chase. EPIC!! Sad its the last one :( (NetGalley) (Available February 1st 2011)

The Cellar

Romeo and Juliet and some Zombies.. Meredith Willis can't help but wonder why her new neighbor Adrian is so weird. She does some digging and what she finds in his cellar makes her think, he might actually be a monster of some sort.  Everyone else thinks he's hot and amazing, but Meredith just thinks he's weird. (NetGalley) (Available May 2nd 2011)

Curse the Dawn (Cassandra Palmer, #4)

I re-bought this because I think I lost it somewhere, but Cassie has to fight Apollo the source of her power, number four in the Cassandra Palmer series. (I bought it, you can too its out)

Goose Girl (The Books of Bayern #1)

Everyone loves this book, so I bought it recently, I want to get back into fantasy if that makes any sense, its what I really love anyway. It was pretty cheap at the bookstore since I'm so late to discover it. Ani can talk with animals, but not very well with people. She is shipped to a foreign land to marry, and feels totally isolated.  She learns to use her powers to find her way, and discover her true purpose. (Bought it you can too, its out)

The Book of a Thousand Days

A princess and her handmaiden are locked in a tower, when they escape they discover all sorts of danger at every turn.  Its based on Made Maleen by the Brothers Grimm, I have this book I got when I visited New York City, that has every fairy tale written by the Brothers Grimm, so I want to read that first, but I'm excited to read this one I saw on Goodreads it has life forty-five covers, and it sounds pretty awesome. (Bought it you can too, its out)

What great books! I love NetGalley. I have The Iron Queen too. Your summaries really make me want to get Awaken and The Vesperine too -- but I already have so many I need to read and review. I really liked The Book of a Thousand Days but haven't read The Goose Girl yet. I'll be looking for your review. My YA mailbox is here. Happy reading!

Thanks :)
NetGalley is super amazing, I am buried in books because of them, but I can't help it! I'm excited about Awaken, and The Iron Queen is great so far, and Shannon Hale is supposed to be good.
