SKINS

What have I been doing lately, well I will tell you. I have been consumed with SKINS, the E4 show based in Bristol England, its about a group of teens who struggle with EVERYTHING. The cast changes every 2 seasons, and 4 currently exist out there. The first two seasons were my favorite. Cassie Ainsworth and Sid Jenkin were my all time favorite duo. They were the best characters ever, then coming in behind them would be Chris from season one. I just really loved Cassie's story, her eating disorder and she is the epitome of "Hot Mess" then Sid will just break your heart, he is the ultimate quirky geek boy. The other characters in the first two seasons were super entertaining, Chris was a total mystery, and his game changing plot sort of came out of nowhere. Then seasons 3 & 4 were actually even more dramatic. They center around Effy and her friends Effy's brother Tony is the MC for seasons 1&2 . Effy is the "numb" girl the one who just wants to feel something, and is totally effed up beyond repair. My favorite person out of those seasons was Cook, he was like    all of the bad things from the season 1&2 characters combined into one totally train wrecked character. He was like Tony and Chris had a baby, that messed up drugs, drinking, selfishness, all of it. The characters are all so real, but then it scares you that people in the real world are actually like them. Effy and Cook were my favorite duo out of seasons 3&4. I was not a huge Freddie fan, during the very first episode of season 3 I thought I would like him, but then it didn't work out for me. Then the twins Emily and Katie I did like them, they were entertaining. Then Thomas from the Congo loved he was fantastic. lastly Autistic JJ steals your heart, his story is just so real, loved it. This show is so real, and its like Gossip Girl only you know not rich and Upper Eastside-y I know if you haven't seen the show you have no idea what I'm talking about, thanks for reading this far. You should totally check this show out, its on Netflix, I'm telling you its worth it.

I really liked the first two seasons of Skins, but I could never get into the new cast so I stopped watching it after the first two episodes. Chris and Cassie were definitely my favorite characters.

Oh yeah Chris and Cassie are the best season 4 was basically pointless, they cast the new people they had an open casting call and some of the kids are actually from Bristol.

getting Americanized? hmm, wonder how that will turn out. I hated The Office in first season b/c of how much I loved the original BBC one. But then it started to blossom into its own thing and it grew on me by the end of the year. So idk, it'll be interesting to see. So far I've only seen Skins season 1 but I love it. I needz to catch up!lol

The first two seasons of Skins are the best, the first US pilot is just a copy of UK pilot, but the creator claims the second episode will be an original. I haven't seen the BBC Office yet, but I have it on Netflix, I sort of always like the UK versions better. They are redoing the the show Shameless too.
