Living Dead Girl

Once upon a time I was a little girl who disappeared.
Once upon a time my name was not Alice.
Once upon a time I didn't know how lucky I was.

When Alice was ten, Ray took her away from her family, her friends -- her life. She learned to give up all power, to endure all pain. She waited for the nightmare to be over.

I almost stopped this book a few times because it was extremely intense. This book really takes you on an emotional journey. All those cases you see on CNN this sheds a new light on them. I love cop drama shows, but I've never had such a in your face experience. Alice is warped but you can't blame her she has been through an ordeal. She felt lost that no one would help her. She was kidnapped years ago by a man named Ray. This story shows you what a vicious cycle of abuse can do. Sometimes people suffer long after the abuse stops. You see what its like to be on the inside of a kidnapping. You always wonder what it was like for the kids that are rescued from kidnappers, and this raw story shows you. Ray is a twisted disturbed horrible man, and like I said I nearly stopped the book a few times it was so harsh. If you can stomach the abuse this book is really worth the read.
