His Eyes

His Eyes

Amy Turner's about to graduate from high school and all she wants is a job. Actually, all she wants is to find a way to pay for college. Amy certainly isn't looking for love when she answers an ad to baby-sit a boy-she just needs the cash. But the job has a catch: The boy is blind...and he's her age.

Tristan Edmund may be hot, but he doesn't want Amy's help. Or so he thinks. After being blinded in a horse show-jumping competition, Tristan spends his days in the dark, refusing to accept his disability. Much to his annoyance, Amy bursts into his life and drags him into the light. But just as the two begin to see something in each other, Tristan's beautiful ex-girlfriend shows up. Will the temptation be too much, or will Tristan choose the girl who really sees him?

His Eyes came to my attention a while ago, but I couldn't find it in any stores around me. I had to just break down and order it off Book Depository. The characters Amy and Tristan are great. Amy is really quirky, and into journalism. Tristan is rich and well kind of spoiled. He is blinded in an accident and Amy needs money for school, so she takes care of him. Its really awkward at first, and Amy navigating how to relate to a rich blind teenager when she is a teenager herself is kind of interesting. I instantly root for Amy and Tristan, but then honestly out of nowhere roadblocks pop up and actually take up a majority of the book. The wait is worth it though in my opinion because in reality you would not just instantly get the hot rich boy even if he is blind. I love Tristan's little brother Chris he is extremely cute it an awesome addition to the story. The book was short, but the story in it lasted long enough if that makes any sense. In all honestly Tristan behaving the way he does distant, and just letting life happen to him, if you go from popular rich kid to blind loner that makes sense. Amy is just as clueless at times, and not at all the perfect angel helping the blind she makes lots of mistakes. I would recommend this book if your looking for a quick fun story.
