First Drop of Crimson

First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1)

First Drop of Crimson is the first book in The Night Huntress World Series, and it is about Spade and Denise. I'm guessing you know both Denise and Spade from the previous books. Spade is a somewhat distant vampire a handsome rogue if you will, and Denise is a modern stubborn woman yet beautifully charming. The chemistry between them is legendary to put it mildly. The banter they share lights up the page they are both so vivid. Denise needs Spade's assistance with at task only achievable by someone with connections to the Vampire World. Spade then agrees to help Denise, but can not deny the pull he has to her, that is shockingly common among vampires no? Just kidding I eat that stuff up. Then they are forced to spend lots of time together, but its all for a purpose, Denise needs to save her family. Will Denise save her family, will the electricity between the two short circuit or will it shock us all?

Well for starters Bones has some competition at least in my eyes. Spade was incredible I fell for that boy within the first couple of pages. Denise stole my heart too I was in her corner instantly. The story flows at a proper pace, and its in my opinion a very character driven tale. I felt I got to know both Spade and Denise thoroughly by the time I was finished reading. The action was intense, and the romance was even more intense much to my liking. We find Denise and Spade fighting the romance because she is indeed not a vampire, and they both are emotionally scarred from past relationships. I felt the tension was perfect, and everything unfolded neatly. The fight scenes kept me on the edge of my seat, and this book truly made me reminisce about Halfway To The Grave, it had that same new quality to it. I have a feeling I'm going to love The Night Huntress World books, and can not wait to read Eternal Kiss of Darkness.

I really like this book. Denise is such a great character! I loved her. Also my fave part was when Cat was like, "God, your disgusting" to Ian. I laughed so hard. I can't wait to read when Ms. Frost will release a book on Ian. Great review :)
