Alice in Wonderland

I saw this today in 2D no 3D for me that would give me a major headache. I loved it I know a lot of people are skeptical but I'm a pretty big Tim Burton fan. You kind of know what your getting yourself into with him honestly. I was really surprised with this because it had the Tim Burton feel but I found parts of it to be completely original. Plus he is telling a really old tale that almost everyone on the planet is familiar with, but to me it didn't feel stale. I actually loved all the characters. Some people claim that the only thing that saves this movie is Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, yes, he is really incredible, but the other characters are great as well. Johnny Depp was genius he seemed crazy, but you could relate to him. He seemed utterly mad but then he seemed utterly sane at the same time. The Mad Hatter, and all his friends are Revolutionists basically trying spread mutiny throughout the land. They want to knock the bloody red Queen off her throne and restore peace. They all wish for the White Queen to rule but she needs Alice as a champion. Alice is great and the girl who plays her is really perfect in my opinion. Anne Hathaway as the White Queen was a perfect fit as well. The entire movie just worked for me I was completely entertained and so was my brother. I was for sure he would be passed out in his chair snoring, but he loved it. Its a Disney movie I saw a lot of little kids, and none of them screamed or cried but it has some kind of creeptastic moments. I mean it isn't disgusting, but its a Tim Burton movie. Like I said though no kids screamed or cried its no worse than a Harry Potter movie.

I'm not a Tim Burton fan, so I'm debating about whether to see this or not. It might be one of those movies that I wait for and pay a buck to rent it from Redbox!

Oh I would totally wait if I were you if you don't like Tim Burton. That way you can stop the movie lol.

Our family just saw this on Saturday. We loved it! I like Tim Burtons work but I must admit I was one of the skeptics on Alice in Wonderland. I am not a fan of the original animation/book and so I thought it would be awful but it was excellent! I like Tim Burtons spin on it and how he took an old story and refreshed it.

I agree with you on 3D. We passed that up for regular screening. I always get sick in 3D movies :(
