Double Review (Halfway to The Grave & One Foot in The Grave)

Author: Jeanine Frost
Description
The Night Huntress series centers on Cat Crawfield a half vampire half human young girl who hunts down the fanged monsters to avenge her mother's attack many years ago, she comes across a like minded individual and they team up to stop a big bad beastie. They might not always get along she might hate his guts, but he makes her an offer she can't refuse. To make a long story short a lot goes down in book one that causes Cat to skip town for her knew job with the super secret Paranormal Team. Its been many years and she left a lot of unfinished business back in her old life, and it just might catch up with her someday.

Both books rated 5 they rock read them!!

Halfway to The Grave
Everywhere I looked I saw rave reviews about this book, and I finally decided to give it a try. If you haven't gave this series a fair shot you really need to its great. As I'm sure you guessed I immediately fell in love with Bones. Cat and Bones teaming up so early, and not making me wait was like a gift from the book God's. They are two hysterical characters, and I find myself laughing out loud with their banter. There was a lot of action in this book to, and I like my romantic banter balanced out with some killer fight scenes. Cat should be ready to fight anything with the insane battle training Bones put her though it sounded like superhero Batman training. I must say Cat's mom makes me laugh she is paranoid and crazy, but understandable. I also love the flashback scenes into Bones's past life they are pretty entertaining. I think the way everything went down in this book was a little amazing, and a little HEY NOW CAT WHAT ARE YOU THINKING...I loved the first book and went straight on to the second one.

One Foot in The Grave
Alright 4 years later Cat has her new alias and she is trying to move on with her life after her big ole decision. She is working with Don and her team of tough guys Tate, Juan, and Cooper. They are like the the Criminal Minds team in a way, but pretty different. They just remind me of your average hunters of the paranormal with a governmental twist. Well turns out Cat meets a man from Bone's past, and then she gets a big shout out from her hometown to come visit, and solve a crime. She hops on her jet with her kick butt team, and turns out there is a price on her head bounty hunters are now after her. I'm so glad Cat finally had to face her past, and the decisions she made in the first book. She also finally found herself in a way and stood up to her mother, and that was priceless. I also learned A LOT more about Bones's past escapades. To me Bones is like Angel and Spike from Buffy combined into one AMAZING character. The side characters in this book are to me just as key as the main ones, and that screams Patricia Briggs and that makes me happy. Honestly if you love Sookie Stackhouse, Mercedes Thompson, and Kate Daniels you will love this series.

I have to say that I didn't particularly like Halfway to The Grave, though I seem to be the only person who feels this way. The romance between Cat and Bones felt too rushed and unnatural to me, as if it was something that just had to happen for the story to progress so that author just had to get it out of the way.
