St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

I am so glad I finally read this book. I kept picking it up over and over at Books A Million, but for some reason kept deciding against it. I was making a huge mistake because I loved this book. I am so excited to get the 2Nd one started. I am so intrigued by Rose and Dimitri, and Lissa the relationship that she and Rose have its just so fascinating to me. I love the idea or Moroi being like Royal and then Rose being Lissa's Guard. Rose completely puts herself before Lissa, and the way Rose and Dimitri can relate to each other because of it thats great. I loved the entire concept of this story, and can't wait to learn more about every character. Christian and Lissa made me smile so big I just love them both. I am just greatly anticipating the next book and can not find anything I dislike with this one its great.
