Faythe is an incredibly human character despite the fact she is a werecat. I laughed out loud on several occasions. Faythe is struggling desperately for independence. She however understands the people who will be in jeopardy if she runs. She makes plenty of mistakes, and has her share of flaws you except her anyway. This book spends a lot of time introducing you the residents of the Lazy S Ranch. The character development is spaced out nicely, and you in my opinion can see the ranch when you close your eyes. I felt like I was in Faythe's bedroom eavesdropping on her conversations with Marc and Jace. I also like the chemistry between Marc and Faythe its sizzling. I found myself rooting for the more carefree Jace every once and a while though. Thats what I love when a book can create two love interests that you can see the female character with. I loved Marc's protective instincts, and how strong he was. I however liked how funny, and charming Jace was. Oh the dilemma! I found myself wanting to learn more about Faythe's mother I like learning about characters mothers. I also enjoyed the mystery element the plot had going on, and I always love kick-butt female characters. The way Rachel described the cats was great, and I feel like they were so beautiful I would just star in awe at them if I ever saw one. I say it was a great first book in the Shifter series and hope the rest of the books are just as good. I have to learn to except that you can't learn EVERYTHING about the characters in the first book. That was the only

thing that bugged me i was greedy and wanted to learn it all.
